Laakso is a subsidiary company of SERV, an association of 800 lumber lot owners in the Matapédia Valley. Established more than 30 years ago, SERV is active in the sectors of forest management, wood processing and blueberry production.

Since 2005, Laakso is producing log houses made with solid beams of white pine. Laakso developed its log house design thanks to excellent business development support from the SERV, which has extensive expertise in wood processing, as well as from Mr. LÉONARD BARRETTE, who has more than thirty years of construction experience as a general contractor and as a manager in a number of wood processing plants.
